The Red Oak Band Boosters help furnish needed band items such as musical instruments, band
uniforms, and supplies. We work directly with Red Oak High School and Middle School band
directors to determine items needed on an annual basis. This allows students taking part in the band
program to further enhance their musical opportunities not provided by the local school district.
The scholarship committee awards up to three senior scholarships to applicants who exhibit
exemplary participation and dedication to the Red Oak Band Program. The scholarship applicants
are required to be involved in the band program all four years of their high school career.
Parent volunteer opportunities include chaperoning while traveling to and from competitions and
exhibitions, supplying lunches for judges during district wide competitions, providing meals and
snacks for students, band directors, and parents, and assisting the band directors with uniform
management, equipment set-up and removal for scheduled marching and concert band
performances.
Our current fundraisers consist of an annual Homecoming supper, school calendar sales, and letters
seeking private donations from the citizens of the Red Oak community. These fundraisers are held
throughout the school year. By providing funds for the above mentioned activities, we assist the
school district in meeting needs not provided for by the school budget.
We recognize our senior’s each year at the spring band concert. The band boosters provide
plaques to the graduating seniors in recognition of their participation in the band program during
their high school career. We honor their parents with a small token of appreciation such as a single
stem flower.
